Intended to be Heard

Three years ago I was in the west coast shooting a documentary for Yale; sort of, this on-going project, with no clear direction. I was staying in some crappy hotel off LA Cienega- later I found out the area had been nick named "boy's town", for the cruising spectacle... Anyway, we rented a car for the weekend, to drive up to SanFranciso to shoot more interviews, then drive back; all summer we had been flying from New York to L.A. to Seattle to San Fran (I was exhausted) After our last interview, I had a day off (before we drove back to L.A.) So I called Jefferson (Jack), one of my best friends from Philly, who starred as 'Edward' in "The Misery Club"... He invited me to his band practice. He plays with John Gruntefest & Megan Bierman (no strangers to the avant garde world of jazz). For the hell of it, I decided to bring a video camera, one tape, and a wireless mic... with no expectations. We all walked away with an amazing hour of improvisation. I never stopped recording, and finally after three years, I decided to put out a DVD- encouraged by the enthusiasm of John Gruntfest.
Look for the link soon on my web site....
